Why this business exists

Water damage gets handled in pieces, and the homeowner pays for the gaps between them. A restoration company extracts the water and sets drying equipment, but it cannot legally repair the burst supply line or the failed water heater that caused the loss. A plumbing company repairs that line and leaves the same afternoon, with the subfloor still saturated. A third contractor eventually hangs the drywall back. Three scopes, three schedules, three invoices, and nobody who owns the outcome.

We came at it from the plumbing side first. B-Dub Innovations, Inc. already ran City View Plumbing across King, Pierce and Snohomish County, and the number of jobs that ended with a repaired pipe and a wet house is what made this line of business obvious. Because the same entity also carries the general contractor registration, the crew that stops the water can dry the structure and then put it back together. One company, one contract, one insurance claim.

What we actually do

We repair the failure that caused the loss, extract standing water, remove material that cannot be dried, and dry the structure with professional air movers and commercial dehumidifiers while taking moisture readings until the affected material matches dry material elsewhere in the building. Then, under the contractor registration, we rebuild what came out: drywall, texture, paint, flooring, trim and cabinetry. Sewage and drain backup cleanup and storm and flood water cleanup are part of the same list. Everything is photographed, logged and handed to you for your insurance claim.

If the building was put up before 1991, a survey for asbestos-containing material comes before anyone cuts drywall or lifts flooring. That is a King County and Puget Sound Clean Air Agency requirement, not a preference, and it is the step a tear-out-first crew skips.

What we do not do, and will not pretend to

• Fire and smoke damage. Not on our list. It is a different capability with different equipment and different training, and we are not going to advertise it before it is genuinely in place.
• Mold remediation, removal, treatment or testing. We do not offer any of it, in any form. Drying material fast and completely is what keeps mold from starting, and that is where our work stops. If growth is already established you want a dedicated mold remediation contractor, and if you need a clearance result you want an independent indoor air quality consultant rather than the company doing the work.
• Deciding your insurance claim. We document the loss accurately and we work with your insurer. We are not on any carrier's panel, third-party administrator programme, preferred vendor list or approved contractor list, and the coverage decision is never ours to make.
• Promising an arrival time we have not confirmed. There is no staffed overnight line yet, so we publish no hours and no response-time figure. Call and you will be told when a crew can actually be there.

How we talk to you

Straight. If your crawlspace is going to flood again next winter because the grade falls toward the house, you will hear that instead of being sold an annual dry-out. If a floor can probably be saved, we will say probably rather than promise. If something is outside what we do, we will name the trade you actually need.
